Kirkside Bothy in the old days

Another view of the kirkside bothy

Another view of the bothy which I believe was taken well before the second world war as there is no sign of the air raid shelter which was built on the ground just in front of the bothy. You can see the empty fish boxes piled up beside the fish room, the anchors and the poles for hanging up the nets to dry and get repaired. There is an upturned coble in the background and note the "jankers" in the bottom left of the photo. They were used to wheel the boats in and out of the water when the tide was too low to float the boat.
